Weekend To Do's - Music Edition.

Boy, these weekends seem to get here awfully fast lately.
Was I just complaining about that?

I'm here this weekend! Actually in town.  No driving, no visiting, but cleaning.  Cleaning is a must.  The other thing that I must do this weekend is pack.

You see next Thursday evening, I'm off to the California coast! There is a seat waiting for me at a round table in Malibu at a friend's wedding.  So we're flying into LAX, heading to the wedding on Saturday and making our way north to San Fran.  All in all, about 11 days.
Can. Not. Wait.

That is not however, until next weekend, so let's watch our focus. Tonnes to do in the T-Dot! Lots of musically flavoured events around the city to enjoy.

It's Friday the 13th people!.  July is not typically the spookiest month, but a little facepaint can go a long way at Iron Maiden and Alice Cooper. They're playing the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre

Saturday shares two musical events, each with its own vibe. Before you head to one or the other go to the Jays game! They need a little support this year, and it really is a lot of fun.

At Fort York there is an event linked up with the many War of 1812 events happening around the city.   "On Common Ground" puts 5 different acts up on stage, the biggest two being Shad and Sarah Harmer. Very cool Canadian music.

The second event on Saturday is the now well known Edgefest.  Huge acts playing, Billy Talent, Death From Above 1979 (Awseome!) and Silversun Pickups.  That is only a sampling of the main stage. The second stage is lined up with soon to be big acts.

One small note for the ladies.  On Saturday there is a bra-drive.  Yup, Bra's for a Cause, "Support underprivliged women around the world by donating your gently used/unused Bras for a Cause"

Sunday the Jays play again, but even better, another fest. This ones a little tastier though, Oyster Festival 2012.  It's the 24th annual, raising funds for Environmental Defense.  Rodney's Oyster House is the location, down at 469 King Street West.  Go check it out, enjoy some slimy delicious eats, and support a good cause.
