Happy Hour

This condo has to be my fav online so far.  I'm constantly going back to Apartment Therapy to examine every detail.  All the liquor displayed on the counter top gets me every time!

So I headed to my Pinterest boards to find more inspiration.

The liquor bottles add visual interest and is somewhat functional if you are limited on space.

Even on a dining room buffet it looks good.

The bar cart is always the perfect solution if you cant afford the counter top space.

I was bored on Sunday and thought I would give it a try.  It's missing something though...maybe it's the tray, or maybe it's the variety of bottles I have, or maybe I just can't look past the ugly cabinets and counter top lol.

So my critical self put it all back after I took this picture lol.  I will re-address this display corner once I figure out the missing piece.

Would you display something like this if you had the space?

To tuft or not to tuft

For many years I have gone without a headboard, I never really gave it much thought.

Art above my bed has always been my solution to filling the space.  Not to mention I'm in love with my black and white photography!

I feel as long as you fill the space then there really isn't a need for a head board.

Even the bed in front of the window works, the curtains really fill the space and make it feel warm.  On a side note I think I need to add some soft throw rugs around bed too.

There is nothing above this bed and yet it still feels complete.

Oh and then I found this picture!  I mean really, can it get anymore amazing!?  The navy blue tufted head board is perfect and has made me rethink my bedroom.

This is something I need to think about.  It's something I feel needs to be a custom piece, the colour and size need to be perfect.

Mirror Mirror

Many, many years ago I found this mirror for $99!  It was very hard to pass up, especially for something of this size.

To let you know how old it is the black stripe use to be hunter green!  Yep I said hunter green!  It was a happening colour back in the day!

It needed to be refreshed and gold was just the ticket.

I purchased a liquid gold leaf and went to town.

I was excited to be able to paint the entire mirror with just a small amount of paint, it was a nice change but it's missing something.  I'm thinking it needs a more yellow colour to high light and possibly a darker colour to shade.  It's still a work in progress but I just wanted to show you what I've been up to in the condo.

Black Ceilings

A few weeks back while having lunch at Libretto I noticed that the ceilings in the bathroom were painted out black. I loved it and it got me thinking about painting a ceiling in my place black.

I'm very embarrassed to show you pictures (horrible pictures at that) of my kitchen.  I'm in the industry,  have the pleasure of designing some amazing kitchens and unfortunately I come home to this every day...

My plans of renovating my kitchen will happen some time next year.  White cabinetry, marble counter tops and white subway tile will be happening!  In the mean time I thought my kitchen was the perfect ceiling to paint black.

I have to admit I was scared while edging but there was no turning back at that point.

I painted all my interior doors in my condo Benjamin Moore Black Jack and had some left over, so I thought why not.  It turned out better than expected, it's a soft subtle black and isn't too harsh against the white walls.  I can't wait to renovate!

{Home Office}

Slowly but surely I have been decorating my condo, room by room and budget by budget.

I have this small space off my bedroom that called to be my home office.  There are sliding glass doors into this space that I try very hard to ignore, tripping over the track and walking into the doors isn't helping the situation lol.

It's not 100% complete, but I thought I would give you a look into the progress.  I added more pictures to my gallery wall on the weekend so it made it feel slightly more finished.  Who knew I would lean so much towards the colour pink?!
