Monday Morning Pics - Black Paper

A little project work to share with you this weekend.  Small powder bath, back accent wall, which paper to choose?

Thoughts!?!  I really like the hand done feel of the first, but the polished look of the second is a little more elegant.

Non Insta- Non weekend

I can't even call it Insta-Weekend because I took zero pics.
However how amazing is this oil painting from Victoria Reichelt?

Have a great week.

Weekend To Do's - Winter is here and with it.... ...Santa!

Why did I ever think writing a Weekend To Do's blog would be a good idea?
I always seem to be busy on Thursday night and then I have hurry up and write this early Friday morning.  Last night I went down to the Glenn Gould Studio to watch The Once. They're a great Newfoundland band, and apparently hilarious.  They had everyone howling with laughter one minute and cheering the next. You can check them out here, this was the first dance at our wedding.

There are a number of Grey Cup events this weekend, and continuing throughout the week.  This is the 100th Grey Cup celebration week, and we're fortunate to be hosting it here in Toronto.

Saturday night, Nathan Phillips Square, Cavalcade of Lights.  It kind of sets off the holiday season.  The cool air gets your blood flowing and the bright lights get your spirits rising.

Santa! (via Buddy the Elf)  The longest running children's Parade in North America heads down from Christie Pits to the St.Lawrence Market. This is a classic.

Looks like everything is outdoors and the weather is gong to co-operate
for the first time in a while. No rain!

Nursery Love

Even though I am only 16 weeks pregnant I cannot stop thinking about my babies nursery.  I keep flip flopping on styles and going back and forth.  I think to make things easier on myself I am just going to have to wait if I am designing for a lil mister or misses....I will keep you updated as things progress.

A Little Visit To Kensington

My wife was called onto the UofT campus for work a couple of weeks back and I thought, "Hey, I'm coming, I haven't been to the Kensington market in ages".  Then I said it out loud so I didn't feel so crazy talking to myself.

Kensignton is a Toronto neighbourhood(ish) bordered on the north by College St., the south by Dundas St. and on the east by Spadina.  On the west, it just kind of bleeds out until it isn't anymore.

Still charming, the corner markets, corner stores each have their own style and feel, some with places to sit and visit.  Always, a little undercurrent of shadiness, just to keep you on your toes!

Market stalls, fresh food to grab.  Go shopping, or stroll through and simply grab a piece of fruit to snack on.

Colourful, funky shops are everywhere. Its one of the nicest things about the area.  Each store is unique, each has its own flavour.  You will find a little of everything down the alleys and streets of kensington - fabric to food to hemp.

The graffiti is everywhere, gleaming with vibrance.   The Mural on the red brick above is one of my favourite pieces.  Its like a classic tatoo or an illumination from on old manuscript.

Great spot for a visit.  Saturday mornings are busiest but really, go anytime.  Something will be open, coffee will be brewing, people watching will be happening.
